Description

The K7 RED XL adds extra reach and power to the ever popular K7 RED. Constructed from a unique Aramid and Carbon fibre matrix, the K7 RED XL still offers great feel and comfort for an extended frame. As the material of choice for most bullet proof protection products, Aramid fibres provide all the dampening and shock absorption needed, whilst the high modulus carbon delivers the abundance of power that all Angell frames are renowned for.

I just recently purchased the K7 Red XL during Wimbledon and was able to get 25-30% discount last Sunday. I have to say that I am very impressed with the cosmetics and the frame has a very modern look. I finished my first hitting session today. In terms of the playability, I have to say right off the bat that XL version does have a noticeable power difference from the standard K7 Red. The control, spin, comfort and feel are spectacular. A moderate swing achieves easy depth and spin. Due to the frame being a 1/2 inch I noticed nice plow on my strokes along with excellent stability. Serving with the K7 Red XL was quite good with really nice pop and spin. I hit a number of aces when with my normal racquet that doesn’t happen to frequently. The K7 Red XL has to be one of the most comfortable racquets that I have played with in my over 30 years of playing. Even with this frame being an XL, the maneuverability was still good. I only found it difficult at times with the one handed topspin backhand but with the slice it was quite penetrating easy to execute. The swingweight is a little bit higher than my regular racquet but after a few more times of play, I anticipate easier execution with the backhand. Overall, I am extremely impressed with the K7 Red XL and highly recommend this racquet to anyone looking for a modern racquet with soft plush feel and has established strokes. There is a very strong possibility that I will be for second one in a few more weeks. Kudos to Paul for designing a really nice offering an XL.
